Detailed & methodical

A search plan built around how the item was lost.

Before equipment comes out, we reconstruct the loss: when the item was last confirmed, what happened next, where the person moved, and what may have changed since then. That information defines the highest-probability area and the right equipment.

Searches may use systematic grids, overlapping detector passes, pinpointers, visual inspection, light sifting in beach sand and specialized land or water equipment. No recovery is guaranteed, but every project receives an honest, organized effort.

Water recovery

Lost in the water does not always mean gone forever.

Derik is a certified diver and uses specialized water-recovery equipment. Search depth and whether a dive can be conducted depend on access, visibility, current, entanglement hazards, water conditions and the ability to operate safely.

Photographs taken at the time of loss are especially valuable in water. Shoreline features, bends, trees, docks and entry points help relocate the search area after conditions change.

Individual project pricing

Clear expectations before the search begins.

Recent-loss projects are quoted individually. A destination and search fee is due upon arrival, with an additional recovery fee or agreed reward when the item is found. Travel, access, site conditions, water work and the estimated search area can affect the quote.

Lost-ring recovery questions

Quick answers before you call.

How quickly should I contact you?

As soon as possible. Preserving the search area and recording the best-known location before conditions change can materially improve the search plan.

Can you search underwater?

Yes. Derik is a certified diver. Each water search is evaluated for depth, current, visibility, access, entanglement hazards and other safety conditions.

Should I rent a metal detector or call a ring finder?

Renting a detector may be reasonable for a small, dry and clearly defined search area if you already know how to use the equipment. An experienced ring finder may be more helpful when the loss area is uncertain, the location contains a lot of metal trash, the item may be underwater, the ground is difficult or preserving the site matters. Before doing either, stop unnecessary foot traffic, mark the best-known location and photograph the area. Read our guide to deciding whether to rent a detector or call a ring finder.

Do you guarantee the item will be found?

No responsible recovery service can guarantee a find. We provide a detailed, methodical search and an honest report of the outcome.

Will digging damage the property?

When digging is necessary, small precise plugs are cut and restored neatly. Recovered trash and debris are removed so the area is left better than we found it.

Do I need the property owner's permission?

Yes. Permission is required before searching property you do not own or control.
