Detailed & methodical

A search plan built around how the item was lost.

Before equipment comes out, we reconstruct the loss: when the item was last confirmed, what happened next, where the person moved, and what may have changed since then. That information defines the highest-probability area and the right equipment.

Searches may use systematic grids, overlapping detector passes, pinpointers, visual inspection, light sifting in beach sand and specialized land or water equipment. No recovery is guaranteed, but every project receives an honest, organized effort.

Common search locations

  • Yards, fields and private property
  • Parks and gathering areas—with permission
  • Rivers, lakes and shallow-water locations
  • Homes, buildings, attics and crawlspaces
  • Routes, work areas and difficult terrain

Water recovery

Lost in the water does not always mean gone forever.

Derik is a certified diver and uses specialized water-recovery equipment. Search depth and whether a dive can be conducted depend on access, visibility, current, entanglement hazards, water conditions and the ability to operate safely.

Photographs taken at the time of loss are especially valuable in water. Shoreline features, bends, trees, docks and entry points help relocate the search area after conditions change.

How recovery works

From first call to final outcome.

1 · Reconstruct

We document the item, time, location, movements, photographs and site conditions.

2 · Plan

We define the likely search area, permissions, hazards, equipment and search method.

3 · Search

The area is covered carefully and methodically, adjusting when evidence changes.

4 · Return & report

Recovered property is returned, the outcome is documented, and recovered trash and debris are removed.

Individual project pricing

Lost-ring recovery questions

Quick answers before you call.

How quickly should I contact you?

As soon as possible. Preserving the search area and recording the best-known location before conditions change can materially improve the search plan.

Can you search underwater?

Yes. Derik is a certified diver. Each water search is evaluated for depth, current, visibility, access, entanglement hazards and other safety conditions.

Do you guarantee the item will be found?

No responsible recovery service can guarantee a find. We provide a detailed, methodical search and an honest report of the outcome.

Will digging damage the property?

When digging is necessary, small precise plugs are cut and restored neatly. Recovered trash and debris are removed so the area is left better than we found it.

Do I need the property owner's permission?

Yes. Permission is required before searching property you do not own or control.
